Matched, not auctioned
Steepworks matches skill, judgment, domain fit, and capacity to an engagement. You review the assignment and its economics before accepting it.
The program guide
The Steepworks Builder Program brings exceptional independent people into a resourced delivery system. You do not bid for isolated tickets. You join a team, build customer context, and share in the value an engagement creates over time.
A different operating model
Work marketplaces make it easier to find a contract and process a payment. Steepworks goes further: we shape the engagement, assemble the team, provide the operating platform, and stay accountable for the customer result.
For customers, Steepworks serves as both a fractional developer and fractional product officer. We stay close enough to understand the business, help decide what should be built, and remain accountable from plan through production and continued improvement.
Builders remain independent professionals, but they are not left to solve delivery, tooling, customer alignment, and business context alone. They join us in carrying that responsibility.

A development manager, technical review, product context, AI tools, and the Steepworks platform surround the work from plan through production.
Builders can move from the initial build into managed operations and continued improvement, deepening context and trust instead of starting over each job.
Compensation can follow collected build, managed operations, and measured outcome revenue. The business result is part of the assignment from the beginning.
The program's capabilities
Steepworks supplies the context and operating leverage that independent people rarely receive from a project marketplace or a staffing assignment.
Opportunities
Join work where your craft, interests, and business judgment fit the outcome—not simply where a keyword matches a job post.
Team
Work with a development manager, technical reviewer, product thinkers, and other Builders. Escalation and hard decisions are shared.
Platform
Build inside established repositories, delivery controls, governed data access, deployment paths, and evidence standards.
AI leverage
Use approved AI tools for exploration, implementation, testing, and refinement while remaining accountable for judgment and quality.
Business context
See the accepted plan, operating problem, customer constraints, and outcome measures that make a technical decision matter.
Recognition
Build a record of durable launches, healthy operations, and measured results—not just a list of tasks completed.
Developers are business builders
Great developers change what a business can do. They clarify the real problem, challenge weak assumptions, turn operating knowledge into systems, and create new capacity for customers and teams.
Steepworks recognizes that impact explicitly. Builders are expected to understand the business purpose of the work—and are given the context, team, and incentives to act on it.
One relationship, compounding
Turn an accepted plan into working, evidenced software or a measurable growth system.
Stay close enough to keep the application, campaign, or workflow healthy and useful.
Use what you learned to identify the next valuable change and help the relationship produce stronger outcomes.
Aligned earnings
Every assignment has written terms before work begins. The schedule identifies the customer engagement, your role, the source agreements, and any share of collected build, managed operations, or outcome revenue.
Build share
An agreed share of collected deposits or milestones for the build work you help deliver.
Managed operations share
An agreed recurring share while you actively help operate and improve the assigned engagement.
Outcome share
When the engagement includes a measurable Outcome Schedule, an agreed share of the outcome fee Steepworks actually collects.
Payout rail: Stripe
01 · Customer collection
Steepworks collects the customer's payment through Stripe.
02 · Builder ledger
Once collection is verified, the assignment's agreed share is recorded with its source evidence.
03 · Statement review
A monthly statement shows accruals, reversals, carried balance, and the amount eligible for payout.
04 · Stripe payout
After any review is resolved, the approved balance is released through Stripe to the Builder's verified payout account.
Stripe onboarding, payout availability, and timing depend on supported countries, required verification, and the signed Builder Agreement.
An outcome-driven platform
The first active track is application building. The same operating model can extend to other disciplines where a capable person, a resourced team, a governed workflow, and measurable outcomes belong together.
Product-minded engineering, application architecture, automation, data systems, integrations, and operated software.
Growth strategy, lifecycle programs, positioning, distribution experiments, and adoption systems tied to agreed business measures.
Workflow redesign, customer operations, internal enablement, and repeatable systems that move a measurable operating result.
Future tracks will open with their own application criteria, trial, delivery standards, and outcome measures. The current application is specifically for Application Builders.
Joining the program
We look for craft, judgment, reliability, curiosity, and the ability to make both the work and the customer relationship stronger.
01 · Apply
Share a piece of work, your AI workflow, and how you approach an important judgment call.
02 · Conversation
Talk through your work, how the program operates, and the kinds of outcomes you want to help create.
03 · Paid trial
Complete a small paid assignment with the real tools, standards, review, and team structure.
04 · Admit & assign
Sign the Builder Agreement, complete onboarding, and review each assignment before joining it.
Application Builder track
This overview is not an offer or a compensation schedule. Eligibility, assignments, share percentages, outcome measures, statement timing, and payouts are governed by the signed Builder Agreement and each accepted Assignment Schedule.
