Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about partnering with Steepworks.

General

What is Steepworks?

Steepworks is an AI orchestration and agent platform powering AI-infused web and mobile applications. We build first-party applications and partner as co-builders to help business operators launch quality AI services.

Who is Steepworks for?

AI entrepreneurs, product founders, and operators who want measurable outcomes—not a DIY platform. If you're building for a specific audience and care about reliability, you're our people.

Is Steepworks a self-serve tool?

No. We co-build and co-operate with partners. You adopt apps and workflows powered by Steepworks; our operators keep them healthy.

Partnership & Business Model

How do partnerships work?

Three paths:

  1. Adopt a first-party app and tailor playbooks to your use case.
  2. Operator program—run a proven app for your audience while we power the spine.
  3. Co-built solution—we design a workflow together and keep it dependable.

How is Steepworks different from usage-based AI platforms?

We don't sell "token buckets." We align on outcomes, ship production workflows, and run them with shared incentives.

What does onboarding look like?

A short discovery → playbook selection/tuning → integration wiring → limited pilot → production rollout with monitoring and guardrails.

How long does it take to launch?

Varies by complexity. Many partners pilot in weeks because we reuse proven playbooks and adapters.

Platform & Orchestration

What do you mean by "orchestration"?

The planner/dispatcher that turns a desired outcome into steps across tools and models—with retries, fallbacks, approvals, and budget checks.

Do you lock me into a single AI provider?

No. We route across providers per task (reasoning vs extraction vs generation), with fallbacks and parity updates.

What tools and integrations can you call?

Common adapters include search, document handling, calendars, code execution, webhooks, and internal APIs. We add new adapters as needed.

Can we customize workflows?

Yes. We start with a tuned playbook and tailor steps, approvals, and guardrails to your domain and policies.

Outcomes, Analytics & Cost

How do you measure success?

By deliverables and adoption metrics (e.g., upgrades, new features, revenue share) per playbook/app/outcome.

Will we see spend and usage?

Yes—telemetry includes per-app budgets, audit history, provider usage, and outcome-level reporting.

What happens if a provider rate-limits or goes down?

The orchestration layer handles retries, timeouts, fallbacks, and provider swaps automatically, with alerts when thresholds are exceeded.

Data, Privacy & Security

Where does data live?

In your systems for source records; we store workflow state, minimal context, and vectorized retrieval where needed. Data retention is policy-driven.

Do you use data to train models?

No, unless explicitly contracted to do so with your consent and controls. Default is no training on partner data.

Compliance posture?

We align to common expectations (access controls, audit logs, least-privilege credentials, encrypted data at rest/in transit). We'll map to your requirements during onboarding.

Operations

Who keeps workflows healthy?

Our operator team—the same group that runs our own apps. You get alerts, dashboards, and escalation paths.

Do you offer SLAs?

Yes. SLAs are defined per partnership (uptime targets, response times, change management, and rollback procedures).

How are updates rolled out?

Dark launches and staged rollouts with parity checks. We revert automatically if outcomes regress.

Adoption & Change Management

How do we train our team or customers?

We provide enablement materials, in-product guidance, and a go-to-market plan aligned to your workflows and audience.

Can we start small?

Absolutely. Most partners begin with a single playbook or app, then expand once metrics are proven.

Fit Check

When is Steepworks the wrong choice?

If you want a public sandbox or a self-serve prompt playground. We're a partner for production outcomes, not experiments.

What should we bring to the first call?

Your audience, the outcomes you care about, and any constraints (data, compliance, budget). We'll bring the playbooks and a path to production.

Ready to Get Started?

Bring your vision—we'll bring the spine.
